Procedures We Offer:

Regenerative Medicine

Stem cell therapy is rapidly gaining attention in the medical community for its ability to treat neuropathic and musculoskeletal pain. Far from experimental, amniotic stem cell therapy is a safe, FDA-approved form of treatment that offers injured patients a nonsurgical option for pain relief. Amniotic fluid contains various growth factors that help tissue to heal and regenerate.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated from your own blood which contains healing factors, such as white blood cells and bioactive proteins, called growth factors and stem cell markers. These cells are vital for tissue regeneration and repair. Platelets, once thought of being responsible for only clotting, have been scientifically proven to be a reservoir of these vital healing components. With advanced techniques we are able to concentrate these regenerative healing cells in a simple outpatient setting.

Epidural Steroid Injections

Patients that have tried conservative care and continue to have persistent pain may be a candidate for epidural steroid injections. During this procedure a needle will be placed into the epidural space of the spine with fluoroscopic (x-ray) guidance. An anti-inflammatory medication is injected to reduce the inflammation around the spinal nerve roots. It can be performed as a single injection or as a series of up to three, depending on the patient’s response.

SI Joint Injections

The sacroiliac joints (SI) are paired structures, found on each side of the sacrum that connect the spine and pelvis. A sacroiliac joint injection is a shot of anti-inflammatory medication and an anesthetic into the SI joint capsule with fluoroscopic (x-ray) guidance. The goal of the procedure is to improve spine motion and relieve pain.

Trigger Point Injections

A trigger point is a tight knot or band of muscle that forms when the muscle will not relax and causes pain. An injection into this area of muscle will help relax and relieve the pain. Some people experience immediate pain relief after the injections, while others find that several days or weeks can pass before their pain improves.

Cortisone Injections

Cortisone injections reduce pain and improve range of motion in affected joints. A local anesthetic and corticosteroid (anti-inflammatory medicine) is injected into the shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow or hip. The doctor will use fluoroscopy (x-ray imaging) to guide the needle into the proper position.

Occipital Nerve Block

The greater and lesser occipital nerves are located in the back of the head. Headaches and neck pain can be caused by inflamed or injured occipital nerves. A mixture of a local anesthetic and steroid are injected near the GON and/or LON with ultrasound guidance. This procedure will reduce the occipital nerve swelling and pain.
